What was involved.
Stonedale Construction was appointed to deliver the construction of a new Lidl food retail store in Birstall, providing a complete build solution from complex ground preparation through to the finished development.
The project involves extensive remediation of the former waste refuge site, including piling, grouting and the construction of reinforced concrete cast in situ retaining walls to create suitable foundations for the new development.
Following the groundworks, Stonedale’s scope included the design and installation of the portal steel frame building and cladding, and M&E services, internal finishes and associated external works. The project demonstrates Stonedale’s capability to manage technically challenging construction projects from enabling and structural works through to final fit-out.
